For this week, we will use the lecture video I recorded, as most of the TedTalks out there cover similar material.
Part 1
The stress response is a super important facet of life to understand, and watching this module's video will teach you several new concepts around the topic. Please respond to the following questions in your discussion post:
- Please articulate the main thing you took away from this module's lecture. What hit home the most, and what examples did it bring to mind for you?
- We all have stressors around school, traffic, finances, etc. Please list your current top stressors that you don't mind sharing in this public space. Would you categorize these as acute or chronic?
- After the lecture, what would you classify as your most frequent eustressors? Even though you enjoy them, are they taking a toll that you may not be fully aware of? For example, my long-distance triathlon training was awesome at the time, and I loved it. Now I realize I paid a hefty price for all of that effort. I learned a lot about myself, but this class may have been helpful to me at the time in mapping out my future better.
- What destressors do you currently have in your life, and how do they serve as such?
- Lastly, what action do you need to take after learning about this material? Are there specific stressors you can reduce? What about eustressors? What destressors can you add to your life? What's achievable for you right now, and how would you like all of this to look in 5 years?
Part 2
Thoughtfully comment and add depth to the conversation of at least two of your classmates by responding to their posts.
Enjoy!
