3. Write the summary (30 points).
   • The purpose of a summary is to give a brief overview of the article. Clearly explain the main points in your own words.
   • To avoid plagiarism, take notes in your own words. If you find yourself sticking close to the original language and making only minor changes to the wording, then you probably don't understand the article.
   • In 250 words (10 points), your summary should include:
     • State the main ideas.
     • Identify the most important details that support the main ideas.
     • Summarize in your own words.
     • Do not copy phrases or sentences unless they are being used as direct quotations.
     • Express the underlying meaning of the article, but do not critique or analyze it.
4. Include the correct APA style reference at the end of your summary (20 points):
   • Author's Last Name, Author's First Initial. Author's Middle Initial. (Year, Month/Date/Season). Title of article. Title of Journal/Magazine, Volume(Issue), Page(s). Retrieved from URL.
