i've changed my mind: You're going to have an exam next week. DON'T PANIC!! You can use your book and your notes.
So...we'll do an exam review on Monday, and i'll post the exam after class. You will have until Wednesday to do it. i'm thinking we won't Zoom on Wednesday, so that you can use the class time to complete your exam.
(As a side note, no officers were indicted in the shooting of Breonna Taylor. i'd love to hear your thoughts on this. One officer was indicted for "wanton endangerment" because some of the officer's fired into OTHER apartments, but not Breonna's. People are out in the streets of Louisville, some with guns, because Kentucky is an open-carry state. Many people are really angry because the officers go no charges.)
Here's your study guide:
You will have 10 prescriptive and descriptive phrases, so brush up on those. You might want to look at your first quiz and review it.
Understand these terms:
Eudaimonia
Morales
Ethos
Moral/immoral
Ethical/Unethical
Amoral
Be able to write about:
The Cultural/Ethical Relativism argument (look on page 58 of your text if you are using the fourth edition). Understand whether it is a sound or unsound argument.
Understand and be able to list several reasons why it would be unwise to use religion in your moral argument (refer to the handout i gave you--it should still be on the Announcements page)
Be able to list the 5 Basic Principles with their subheadings
Be able to write about which characters in The Stoning of Soraya M either honored or violated any of the 5 Basic Principles.
That's it! This should be an easy exam for you.
See you all on Monday--have a good weekend!
