Welcome to ENG 1B

My book shelf I

Welcome to English 1B! English 1B is designed to develop reading, critical thinking, and writing skills beyond the level achieved in English 1A. It will develop critical thinking in interpretation, analysis, synthesis, and argumentation, about literary masterpieces of poetry, drama, and fiction.

It is vital that you carefully and critically read the attached syllabus

View in a new window, Save it or print it so that you can access it easily when you have questions or need contact information.

Also, if you have not looked at the student orientation to Canvas, take the time to do so now.

Once you've taken the orientation and familiarized yourself with the syllabus, click on Modules and get started on the activities for Week 1. The class materials must be accessed from the Modules. Once you're in a Module, you can use "previous" and "next" at the bottom of the screen to move between items within the Module. If you bypass this and try to approach the assignments without the material in the module, you will miss vital information. The discussions and essays are not meant to be done independently of the material in the modules.
