Instructions

This midterm is 30 questions that cover material presented in chapters 1-8 in the course lectures (powerpoint) presentations.  It is an open-book, open-note midterm with no time limit.  You may use all of your powerpoint handouts, lecture notes, and the internet to answer each question.  If you have any trouble accessing the content/questions, or if you need technical help, please text me (do NOT email) at 520-981-0204.

Make sure you read each question before you answer it!  Some true/false questions are tricky!

Due Dates:  The midterm submission window will open on October 27th at 930A and close on November 3rd at 930A.

Grading:  Refer to the grading rubric for information on essay question grading (click on the 3 dots in the upper right-hand corner to view the rubric).

Extra Credit:  You will have one extra credit question (worth 5 points) at the end of the exam.

A note about plagiarism:  Even though this is an open-book, open-note exam, the work you submit needs to be in your own words.  If you're concerned about grammar and style, don't worry.  My job is to grade the quality of your content.  If you decide to use AI generated content, you are STILL required to cite the tool's contribution to your work.  This includes cutting and pasting from AI generated content.  Answers that are lengthy and verbose and/or use overly formal language that never directly addresses the specific question or topic- or addresses the question in an overly sophisticated way- will be considered suspicious and treated as plagiarism.  In other words, I'll immediately know if you simply highlight and paste whatever ChatGPT provides as an answer.  I'm looking for answers IN YOUR OWN WORDS.

Make-up Policy:  If you are not able to upload the midterm by the due date (November 3rd at 930AM), you can still take the exam, but you will only receive partial credit.
