CHAPTER 1 OVERVIEW

This chapter discusses the value of a complete fire-service education, the different paths to becoming a fire fighter, the college and training programs available, the selection process, and the importance of setting goals when pursuing a career in firefighting.

  2. Review Chapter 1 Power Point
  3. Watch the Fire Academy Class #1 video and respond to the discussion post.
  4. Prepare and submit a Cover Letter and Resume.
  5. Complete optional Extra Credit by assigned due date.
  6. Complete Chapter 1 online Quiz in CANVAS. 
    • This is a timed exam so make sure you have read the chapter text and reviewed the power point before taking this exam. You are allowed to take this test twice! It is the only time that you will be able to do this.
  7. Respond to Discussion Post.
