Here is the link to Toastmasters International on how to select a topic (Links to an external site.) along with some key points when preparing for your topic. Your video presentation should be 5 minutes in length.
The video presentation should include the following outline.
- Introduction - who are you? state your name and presentation topic.
- What is the purpose? - state the reason for the presentation (e.g., today's presentation is about my trip to Hawaii).
- Why should the audience care? - what are some of the reasons why the audience should pay attention.
- What does your presentation entail? - (e.g., name of the island, flight length, tourist attractions, restaurants, history of Hawaii).
- Give a summary (provide the highlights of the presentation).
- What is the call to action? (e.g., why should the audience visit Hawaii).
- Close - state your conclusion. (e.g., this concludes my presentation on why you should visit Hawaii).
