Who I Am:
I am a full-time business faculty instructor but was also the Director of Career Technical Education Projects and an adjunct instructor for Business and Work Experience.
Most of my career has been spent in the business world. Prior to COD, I worked for OneFuture Coachella Valley, Coachella Valley Economic Partnership, Los Angeles Times, The Desert Sun, Socratic Technologies, and other companies within the business sector. In the past 25+ years, my jobs have been interesting and varied, and I hope my experiences help with your understanding of all areas of business.
On a more personal note, I am married with four kids, aged 20 to 28. I am originally from Detroit and first moved to the Coachella Valley in 1992. I attended Michigan State University, where I received a B.A. in Telecommunications/Video Production and an MBA in Marketing. My doctorate is in Community College Leadership from Kansas State University.
Who I Am Not:
I am not a counselor or clergy. If you have a personal problem, I can listen, but I do not have the skills to help you in-depth. However, there are people at COD who can help you and I can refer you to the right person if you do need other help. Just ask!
I am not here to give you a grade you do not deserve. You will need to complete the assignments to get the grade. Do not expect extra credit to make up for missed work. I realize that learning during this challenging time can be difficult and distracting, but learning to manage these challenges is the first lesson for being successful in business and management.
That said, if you should have any questions or concerns along the way, please don't hesitate to contact me as soon as possible. Many problems can easily be resolved in their early stages whereas waiting can often make the problem worse or even unsolvable.
