Week Thirteen Overview

Summary

You will only have one discussion thread this week, but it will be worth 10 points!

This week we will review the Child Development Training Consortium, The Child Development Permit, The California Commission on Teacher Credentialing and the path to becoming a credentialed teacher in the state of California.

While we are talking about your path, this is a good time to set your long term goals. Do you want to teach elementary school? special education? be a home visitor? teach college? Start thinking about long term goals.

You will also read the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct Links to an external site. and you will create a post for your portfolio about your commitment to Ethical Standards.

A degree in Early Childhood Education can take you very far.

*Some of the Careers listed below require advanced degrees, talk with the Workforce Development Center Links to an external site. and/or one of the full-time faculty advisers Links to an external site. in the Child Development Department for more information.
