Week Eleven Overview
Here we are in week eleven! Five weeks of instruction left and then we are in the final week! I want to break down the remainder of the semester for you so you are prepared.
We have finished our reading in the text. As we move through the next five weeks, you may want to refer back to the text and there are some excellent resources in there. Be sure you have thoroughly explored the book and saved any links and bookmarked any pages you want to return to.
A great way to save bookmarks is to use a program like "diigo" Links to an external site.. You can not only save links, but you can annotate and file the links to return to later. We cover lots of information in this class. Months from now, you will want to review some website we discussed and you won't remember it. If you choose not to use something like Diigo, at least create a digital notebook Links to an external site. in Office 365 where you can add a bookmarks page. Now is the time to do this!
For the next five weeks we will explore in depth the California Early Learning and Development System. As you begin your career in Child Development in the state of California, you will need to be familiar with and use the resources we will cover in the next five weeks.
- Week 11- Overview of the System and the California Early Childhood Online Training Clearinghouse ( known as CECO) and the California Workforce Registry.
- Week 12- Curriculum Framework for Infants/Toddlers and Preschool and the Desired Results Assessment System
- Week 13- The California Teacher Credential Department, The Child Development Permit and Matrix and the Child Development Training Consortium
- Week 14- The ECE Teacher Competencies and the CompSAT Website
- Week 15 - California Preschool Instructional Program ( CPIN) and Child Care Initiative Program (CCIP) and the Resource and Referral Network.
- Week 16 - You will log in individually with me to present your portfolio as the final.
