Reflection: What do you want your environment to say?

- Submitting a text entry box
You have learned a lot this week about environments and how to create welcoming and effective learning classrooms. In this field we like to say that the environment is the "third teacher". Parents are the first, and then we begin to help as children begin school.
What do you think we mean when we say that the environment is the third teacher?
Take this time to create a reflection about how you will create a welcoming environment for children when you have your own classroom.
- What types of furnishings will you use?
- What will be hanging on the walls?
- What will your schedule look like?
- How will you ensure that families feel welcome in your room?
Be sure you cite the text, the Preschool Program Guidelines, and the Guidelines video. Be sure your response adheres to college-level writing standards.
