The checklist will help you set your plan and make sure you’re on the right path in developing your own branding.
BRAND PLAN CHECKLIST (for your logo and company)
- Plan the pre-launch; research, identify your VMV.
- Add tasks by listing them using note form not full sentences. For instance, design logo, print letterhead
and business cards, print flyers, hire an assistant, get prices on a rental space, file a DBA with your city,
promotion, publicity, creating new materials or social media to keep up interest, expand into new areas) - Highlight key information - use a highlighter or annotations in google doc or word)
- Set yourself deadlines - maybe complete 1 task per week
- Note who else is involved - co-worker, siblings, parents
- Pinup the plan - showcase the plan by posting it here in the discussion
- Update the plan

PREPARATION
Define your aims and those of your project and then write a project brief. (1-2 sentences to answer each topic will become the brief)
Stage 1 Research
Interview yourself and 1 colleague/friend to define what you stand for. (One or more sentence each)
DEFINE AUDIENCE
Primary research - surveys, online polls (I will look for sites this stage TBA)
Secondary research - existing data (I will look for sites this stage TBA)
AUDITS
- Analyze your existing branding. (describe in one simple sentence - analyze the style, color, shape, audience)
- Analyze verbal and visual brands for similar projects or competitions. (find something similar and analyze the style, color, shape, audience.)
STAGE 2 (answer the questions under Verbal Brand on the pdf)
STAGE 3 (sketch out Visual Concept logo-use simple geometric shapes for sketch and write out what colors you will use.)
- Add one sentence or one-word note for each answer and submit/upload a pdf to this discussion
