Module 5 (Mar 4 - Mar 7): Overview

Welcome to Module 5! The list below outlines what you need to do for this module. 

  • Read Chapter 5 of American Government (Civil Rights).
  • Check out the supplemental resources available to you on the next Module page.
  • Then read the Module 5 discussion prompt and respond with your initial post (your answer to my prompt) by 11:59pm on Friday. Two thoughtful follow-ups are due in the  discussion forum by 11:59pm on Sunday. The discussion board closes after the Sunday deadline so no late posts will be accepted.
  • Finally complete and submit the Unit 2 Exam by 11:59pm on Sunday.

By completing this week's reading and assignments, you will achieve the following Course Objectives:

  • Trace the struggle of equal rights as it has occurred at both the Federal and California State levels. Relevant legislation and judicial decisions will be studied and the importance of these critically assessed.
  • Articulate and explain the rights and obligations of citizenship.

By asking a question and receiving an answer (either from me or your classmates) in this forum, you will help other students who have the same question-just like in a face-to-face class!
