Research Assignment

For this assignment we will conduct an experiment as a class based on the following hypothesis:

"When greeted with a big smile, more often than not, strangers will smile back."

The operational definition for "big smile" is a smile with both sides of the mouth turned upward at 45 degrees or greater.

Your job is to test this hypothesis by smiling at 20 different strangers and record how many of them respond with a smile, how many respond with a neutral face, and how many respond with a frown.  

Then, answer the four questions in this assignment.

I may grade your assignment before the due date, but you won't see the feedback with the correct answers.  I will release the correct answers in an announcement/email after the due date.
