Here is this week's Surprize Motorcycle Quiz Question:

* What does Carolina mean when she says, "We're all half-breeds"?

Here is the way I would go about it:

1. First, discuss the family dynamic:

* Where were the parents born?

* Where were the children born?

* Where do they live now?

* Where does this conversation take place?

2. OK, now what is Carolina talking about?

*  Who is a half-breed.  What?  Why?

*  Why does she call Yoli "Miss Coconut"?

*  What makes her so smart?  Is she different from her sister?

3. Now, offer your own perspective:

*  Do you have anything to say?   Can you identify with anything said or done in this chapter?  Do you know of anyone who might have a story that relates to the Sahagun experience.  Explain.  

This is going to be great.  You will see.
