- MLA Format –
- Check first page of essay
- Do you have a header?
- Have you inserted your pagination?
- Have you placed your title at the top of the page?
- Please check for CAPITALIZATION errors in your title!

II. MLA Documentation –
- Do you have at least 10 in-text citations?
* Do you have at least 6 entries in your works cited list?
* Do you know when to use QUOTATION MARKS?
* Do you kno when to use ITALICS?
* Have you placed the parentheses before the periods?
- Quotation Marks –
- Have you placed your punctuation inside your quotation marks?
- Have you positioned attribution tags to each quote?
- Have you capitalized the first word of each quotation ( if the word serves as the first word in a sentence)?
- Have you placed quotation marks around the titles of all research articles?
4. WORDINESS/ AWKWARD SENTENCES
* Do you have any sentences that go beyond two to three lines? Break them up.
* Do you have any sentences that contain unnecessarly repeated words. Shorten the sentence.
* Are you repeating the same schtuff over and over. Don't.
* Do use phrases like this: "Due to the fact that..."? Just use "because."
5. Semicolons:
* Check to see if you have a complete sentence before the semicolon.
* Check to see if you have a complete sentence after the semicolon.
* If you don't, I will mark the whole thing as a fragment.
