Taking an online class has many advantages, including increased flexibility and convenience. However, online courses are not for everyone. Taking an online or hybrid course requires the same commitment of time, study, and effort as a face-to-face course plus a high degree of self-motivation, discipline and independence.

Complete this short quiz to see how well online courses fit your circumstances and personality.

  • If you scored between 75-100 points: Your results indicate that your life situation and learning style are a good match for an online or hybrid course. Keep working on those online skills!
  • If you scored between 50-74 points: Your results indicate that online learning might be a good match for you. We recommend that you view where you feel weakest and find support to strengthen those areas.
  • If you scored below 50 points: You might be best suited to try a web-enhanced class for your first time. Take a course in AIS to learn more about computers and online learning.

All learning requires moving out of your comfort zone and trying something new. Mistakes are part of the learning process. Know where you need help and seek it out. Our Librarians and staff at the Tutoring Center are great resources as you learn your new skills.
